Basketball Youth National: Karnataka Girls Champions and Boys Runners up…\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Howrah \u00a0\u00a0(Kolkata \u00a0) \u2013 Rajasthan boys\u00a0 and Karnataka Girls\u00a0 topped the 39th Youth National Basketball Championship for Boys and Girls here at \u00a0the Sabuj\u00a0 Sati Indoor stadium, Howrah, Kolkata as in the boys Rajasthan\u00a0 were crowned with an 85-67 \u00a0victory over Karnataka \u00a0and in women section Karnataka won with a (61-54) \u00a0victory over Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n

Rajasthan retained the Boys title while\u00a0 Karnataka regained the Girls trophy from Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n

In the women’s final Deepika P P and captain Nidhi \u00a0Umesh came as the top scorer with 16 points each for Karnataka while Pushpa Jeffrin scored 15 points \u00a0for Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n

In the boy’s final dominated by Rajasthan, Piyush Choudhary was the top scorer\u00a0 with 27 points and 14 rebounds and for Karnataka Samarth Manur scored 24, Harshan\u00a0 Yathish 19 and Aditya Shenoi Played Well.<\/p>\n

Taarusree Tarun from Karnataka in Girls was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the Championship and carried a Prize money of Rs. 50,000\/-.<\/p>\n

The Best Shooter \u00a0in Girls went to Nidhi Umesh \u00a0of Karnataka and Cash Prize of Rs.25,000\/-<\/p>\n

Dr K. Govindaraj FIBA Asia President has announced Cash prize for Girls Winning Team with a sum Rs 7.5 Lakhs and Runners Boys team Rs 5.00 lakh and he congratulated both the teams on their achievements and Best wishes to players Coaches and managers.<\/p>\n
