Sponsor a Needy Talented Youth Basketball Player

Why?

There are a large number of youth, particularly from the low income communities, who tend to either drop out of academics or are unable to complete their education due to either family issues or wages earning demands from the family or other unavoidable reasons. Unfortunately, this leads to the youth becoming unemployable either due to lack of any formal academic qualifications or lack of any industry skills which can at least earn them a decent living. Among the needy youth mentioned above, there will be a few good basketball players with a very promising talent.

The KSBBA, under the able guidance and support by Dr K Govindaraj, MLC, President, Basketball Federation of India and Hon. Secretary Karnataka Basketball Association. He has been in the forefront of providing financial and education related support to such needy, talented youth basketball players. Often, we find that many such talented basketball players discontinue the game due to pressure from family. At times, even their game skills development suffers due to lack of professional coaching as well as availability of good infrastructure setup.

The KSBBA program provides not only high end basketball playing skills to the talented youth but also an opportunity to build their educational and professional career. The support package will include the following:

  • Financial assistance towards education and other support activities as deemed fit by the selection panel of KSBBA.
  • Training and enabling of the youth in high end basketball skills under professionally trained coaches.
  • Job Placement support after successful completion of training.
  • Counselling support during training, placement and beyond.
