KSBBA SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE SCHEME
The KSBBA under the able guidance and support of our great visionary Dr. K Govindaraj MLC, President FIBA Asia, Honourable Secretary Karnataka State Basketball Association & President Karnataka State Olympic Association, has decided to provide Scholarship to the needy, financially weaker background players between the age group of 13 years to 18 years. It is a great initiative taken by the KSBBA and it is first of its kind in the Indian Basketball history. The Aims & Objectives of the scheme are as below:
Aims & Objective of the Scholarships Scheme;
1. To encourage, promote and harness the talent of the young budding Basketball players and also to offer support & assistance financially to the needy economically weaker background players of Rural areas of Karnataka.
2. The Karnataka State Basketball Association will also act as a Special Purpose Vehicle to promote and to encourage the young Rural upcoming players in the field of Basketball by holding frequent programmes to promote and exhibit the rural talent. In this regard a committee has been setup, and the Committee has been authorised to frame necessary guidelines, rules & regulations for the smooth implementation of the said scheme.
3. Apart from the above, the committee will closely monitor the performance of the benefitted players and also provide them guidance and advise on regular basis.
4. The main objective of the KSBBA is to impress upon all the Member Clubs / District Associations to circulate the said scheme among all the eligible players of their respective Clubs, so as to enable the budding economically weaker background players to utilize the said scheme.
5. The Secretary, KSBBA feels that Basketball players at Rural areas discontinue the game due to pressure from family and lack of financial support although they are talented. The players also suffer from non-availability of Nutritious diet and also basic sports equipment. In order to overcome all these issues, the KSBBA’s Scholarship scheme has been introduced which will provide an opportunity to build their educational and professional carrier and also bring laurels to the state and to the Country.
6. The aspirant should be registered player of KSBBA. He/ She should be between the age group of 13 years to 18 years.
- The committee should identify the aspirant as a future basketball talent.
- The aspirant should be an economically background player.
- The aspirant should meet the requisite & provide the necessary documents to the committee.
- The aspirant should fill-up the application form provided by the KSBBA & it should be duly attested by the President and Secretary of respective Clubs/ District Associations.
- The Clubs / District Associations are requested to circulate the scheme to all the registered players of their clubs / District Associations and also to collect the filled applications from the eligible players along with requisite documents which are mentioned in the application form.
- The Clubs / District Association are requested to scrutiny the applications received by eligible economically weaker background players keeping in mind the purpose of the scheme.
- The application so received by the District Association / Clubs will be scrutinized thoroughly and the eligible selected players list will be submitted to the Secretary KSBBA for further needful action.
- An impartial action and utmost care may be taken during scrutiny of the applications.
7. Wherever District Associations are not in existence, then respective Clubs can forward one boy and one girl application to KSBBA, by duly attesting the application by the President and Secretary of the respective clubs.
8. Only the domicile of the place are eligible to apply. He / She should be a Bonafide student of the school / college of the place from where the applications are forwarded.
9. The KSBBA reserves the rights and also no litigations or protests will be entertained in this regard.
Request all the member Clubs / Districts Associations to make use of the scheme and support the Nobel cause introduced by the Association.
