HEALTHCARE SUPPORT TO BASKETBALL PLAYERS

Why?

Healthcare support for sportspersons plays an important role in their wellbeing as well as their achieving higher performance levels. Healthcare can be during the active life of a top calibre sportsperson as well as post retirement from active sports activities. This support becomes critical, particularly to those who belong to economically weaker sections.

The KSBBA, under the able guidance and support of Dr. K Govindaraj, MLC, President Basketball Federation of India and Hon. Secretary, Karnataka Basketball Association has been in the forefront of providing financial support to healthcare related issues faced by eminent, active basketball players as well as established but inactive basketball players belonging to economically weaker sections. Often, we find that many such talented basketball players discontinue the game due to serious injuries.

The KSBBA Healthcare support program provides financial support under certain specified situations. They are:

  • Financial support to active players for Medical treatment due to injuries caused during playing situations.
  • Financial support towards medical treatment to eminent players post retirement from the game.
  • Medical Consultation support to eminent, active players.
