State Junior Boys Champions – Pondicherry – 2026
We are pleased to inform you that the Karnataka State Junior Boys Basketball Team won the Gold Medal at the 76th Junior National Basketball Championship, held in Puducherry on 29 May 2026 after a gap of 46 years.
To celebrate this outstanding achievement, the Karnataka State Basketball Association (KSBBA) honoured the players and officials today at KOA Bhavan, Bangalore.
Dr K.Govindaraj MLC, President FIBA Asia & KOA felicitated the team and enhanced the cash prize from Rs. 7.5 lakhs to Rs.10.00 lakhs along with tracksuit and shoes to the team
The first time the then Mysore State won the Junior National Championship in 1966 at Coimbatore, followed by Karnataka State won the same championship in 1980 at Jamshedpur and 1981 at Goa.
