Renewal of Membership

ANNUAL RENEWAL OF MEMBERSHIP

The official year of the KSBBA Association every year ends on 31st December. The member clubs have to renew their membership for the next year commencing from 1st January.

As per Rule 4 (ii) of the Rules and Regulations of the Association, if the Annual Subscription is not remitted well in advance, i.e. before 31st December of current year, a penalty of Rs.100/- is to be paid along with the Annual Subscription for the delayed renewal of membership for the next year, on or before 15th January. Further with a penalty fee of Rs.500/- should be submitted before 20th February.

Therefore, all the member clubs are requested to remit their annual subscription, as detailed below, for the next official year before 15th January positively:

ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION

a) Member Clubs Rs. 500.00
b) Institutional Members Rs. 5,000.00
c) District Associations Rs. 500.00

Rule 1 (iv). A player shall not sign for more than one club in a year. If any player is found to have signed for more than one club, he shall be disqualified from playing for any of the clubs for the entire year.

REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS

Rules under Bye-laws of the game of Basketball regarding registration of players is noted below, for strict adherence and guidance of the Member Clubs.

ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS:

Annual Registration of Players:

Rule 1 (i) – Every member club shall submit to the Hon. Secretary of the Association a list of players of the club, in duplicate, in the prescribed players registration form (Appendix – 1) before 15″ January of every year accompanied with a Capitation fee of Rs. 20/- for each registered player (minimum of 12 (twelve) players required). The Hon. Secretary of the Association shall retain the original with the association and return the duplicate copy to the club concerned duly attested by the Hon. Secretary.

Rule 1 (ii) – In case of District Association, players shall be registered as in Rule 10 from the club in their jurisdiction and 50% of Capitation fee so collected will be retained by them and the other 50% remitted to the Association along with the list of players registered with the District Association.

Rule 1 (iii) – No player shall be eligible to play for club unless he/she has signed in the prescribed registration form every year and accepted by the Association every year. This does not apply to the players who obtain Inter-State transfers.

Rule 1 (v). Any member club who has not submitted a list of players of the club, as provided by Rule 1 (1) is given an extension of time to submit the list of players in the prescribed registration form on or before 31st January, accompanied with Capitation fee along with a penalty of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred) for the delayed submission of the list.

All the member clubs are requested to please note that the age limit has been specifically stipulated by the BASKETBALL FEDERATION OF INDIA for the following categories of players eligible to participate in the Championship / Tournaments:

All players of respective age group must be registered with proof of age duly signed from their respective present Head of the Institution.

(1) Mini Boys and Girls under – 13 years

(2) Youths Boys and Girls under – 16 years

(3) Junior Boys and Girls under- 18 years

(4) Senior Men and Women players – No age limit.

In pursuant to the above, it is mandatory on the part of all the member clubs to furnish the correct age, in the column meant for age with date of birth, in respect of all the above category of players, in the players registration form.

It may also please be noted that if the member clubs fail to furnish the correct age of the players without the above particulars, the relevant category of players will not be permitted nor eligible to participate in any of the event’s organised by the association during the year.

Rule 5(ii) – Every member shall participate at least in two tournaments conducted under the auspices of the association or a District Association every year.

Rule 5 (iii) – Any member failing to fulfil the above conditions, shall forefeet the membership of the Association.

The above conditions are imposed against the member clubs with a view to see that the member clubs will strictly adhere in fielding the players with their names at least in any two tournaments of the Association during the year. In order to encourage the development and promotion of the game of Basketball, on conclusion of each official year, the question of renewal of membership of the member clubs will be considered and decided only after making enquiry whether any member has fulfilled the conditions laid down under Rule 5 (ii) and the reasons for violation of the rules thereof.

The member clubs are therefore, requested to take immediate action in registration of their players as specified above, for the official calendar year within the stipulated time schedule. The forms, in duplicate may please be filled in accordance with the instructions and sent well in advance to the Association for scrutiny and acceptance.

In respect of student community, the student player is allowed to play for his/her New Club/Institutions where he/she is admitted after submitting the proof for such transfers as per Rule (iii).
